چکیده

A systematic analysis of the dynamic behavior of a gear-bearing systemwith nonlinear suspension, couple-stress fluid flow effect, nonlinear oil-film force, and nonlinear gear mesh force is performed in the present study. The dynamic orbits of the system are observed using bifurcation diagrams plotted using the dimensionless rotational speed ratio as a control parameter. The onset of chaotic motion is identified from the phase diagrams, power spectra, Poincaré maps, Lyapunov exponents and fractal dimension of the gear-bearing system. The numerical results reveal that the system exhibits a diverse range of periodic, subharmonic, quasiperiodic, and chaotic behaviors. The couple-stress fluid would be a useful lubricating fluid to suppress nonlinear dynamic responses and improve the steady of the systems. The results presented in this study provide some useful insights into the design and development of a gear-bearing system for rotating machinery that operates in highly rotational speed and highly nonlinear regimes.

Dynamic Analysis of a Rotor Supported on Ball Bearings with Waviness and Centralizing Springs and Squeeze Film Dampers

Squeeze film dampers (SFDs) are often used in machines with high rotational speed to reduce non-periodic behavior by creating external damping. There are some structural parameters which are of great importance in designing these systems, such as oil film thickness and inner race mass of SFD. Moreover, there is a crucial parameter associated with manufacturing process, under the title of wavine...

Preload Effect on Nonlinear Dynamic Behavior of Aerodynamic Two-Lobe Journal Bearings

This paper presents the effect of preload on nonlinear dynamic behavior of a rigid rotor supported by two-lobe aerodynamic noncircular journal bearing. A finite element method is employed to solve the Reynolds equation in static and dynamical states and the dynamical equations are solved using Runge-Kutta method. To analyze the behavior of the rotor center in the horizontal and vertical directi...

Dynamic Instability of Visco-SWCNTs Conveying Pulsating Fluid Based on Sinusoidal Surface Couple Stress Theory

In this study, a realistic model for dynamic instability of embedded single-walled nanotubes (SWCNTs) conveying pulsating fluid is presented considering the viscoelastic property of the nanotubes using Kelvin–Voigt model. SWCNTs are placed in longitudinal magnetic fields and modeled by sinusoidal shear deformation beam theory (SSDBT) as well as modified couple stress theory. The effect of slip ...

Dynamic Meshing Characteristics of Elliptic Cylinder Gear Based on Tooth Contact Analysis

As the most important working area of gear, teeth play the role of transmitting load and power. Tooth line and tooth profile are the two main characteristics of the tooth surface, which affect the shape of the tooth surface, tooth meshing characteristics and contact characteristics. Taking the elliptical cylinder gear pair in the reversing device of a new type of drum pumping unit as the resear...
